This monochrome edition of the Nike Drop Type LX Shoes has smooth nylon uppers with subtle suede overlays which offer a durable, premium look against its creative design. White cotton laces provide a secure fit above the tongue which has an exaggerated exposed foam finish around the top edge with a reworked version of the Nike Swoosh logo printed on top in white. Paying homage to American runner Steve Prefontaine and his fastest mile, stylised ‘n.354’ text can be found on the outer side of each shoe below the lace border and double eyelets have also been added on either side to increase ventilation. The white rubber outsole wraps around the back of the heel and above a black leather heel tab provides a base for additional Swoosh tick branding. For further durability an additional layer of rubber wraps around the front of the toes. On the inside a fabric lining has been added for comfort, and the sockliner features a custom text design that highlights the design’s inspiration.
As part of the N354 footwear family which has been crafted with a raw and experimental edge, the Drop Type LX Shoes draw influence from classic tennis shoes in the NikeCourt family through a low-cut silhouette that is invigorated with selected details. Remaining a legend throughout running history, Steve Prefontaine set a personal record for his fastest mile of 3:54:6 during the Hayward Field race.
